Alfred Hicks died from wounds on 18th August, 1917, after having been sent to a base hospital in Rouen, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 15th London battalion was part of 140 Brigade, 47th Division, that had been involved in the early stages of the Third Battle of Ypres at the end of July and beginning of August, 1917.
